Hugh joined a distinguished panel of judges headed by Wigmore Hall director, John Gilhooly, for the Hall’s 2022 International Song Competition. The other judges include old friends from the 2017 competition, Graham Johnson, doyen of song pianists, soprano Felicity Lott, mezzo soprano, Bernarda Fink and Cardiff BBC Singer of the World administrator, David Jackson, and new ones: American sopranos Roberta Alexander and Claron McFadden, German baritone, Olaf Baer and Asadour Santourian, recently appointed vice-president of Boston Symphony Orchestra’s Tanglewood Music Centre and Learning.
